Ordering Information
Deposit and Payment
A $500 deposit is due to secure a place on the build list and is applied towards the cost of your guitar. Full payment is due before the guitar is shipped.
Shipping and Insurance
I ship my guitars fully insured via USPS Express (Overnight) mail. The cost is usually right at $90. I prefer to ship overnight to minimize potential damage from the carrier. In my experience, USPS is the very best carrier for guitars.
Grace Period
I offer a 3 day grace period to "test drive" the guitar and make sure it meets your expectations.
Refund Policy
If in the event you are not entirely satisfied with the guitar, I will offer you a complete refund minus the shipping costs. I strongly recommend that you use a good carrier and that you fully insure the guitar for the return journey. The guitar must arrive in its original condition or a full refund will not be issued.
My refund policy does not apply to guitars that are customized in such a way that would exclude most potential buyers. In such cases, I would offer a full refund to you once the guitar has been sold. Please note that I will notify you before the build process if such restrictions will apply to your guitar.

Warranty
-------------------
I offer a 10 year warranty
to the original owner against defects in materials or
original workmanship. Upon notice of any defect,
Simon Fay
Guitars will either repair or
replace, at their option, the defective part or material.
The original owner shall assume and pay the cost of all
shipping charges or postage. Any event after 10 years will
be covered by Simon Fay
Guitars at their discretion.
Simon Fay
Guitars is not responsible for
damage due to extreme humidity (outside 40% to 55%),
extreme temperatures (above 100°F or below 40°F), finish
checking, accidents, abuse, or items that wear out with
normal use (Such items include frets, fingerboard wear,
bridge wear, tuning hardware, nuts, saddles, bridge pins,
bridge plates, truss rods and finish wear.) Only the
following tonewoods are guaranteed against cracking:
Spruce, Cedar, Mahogany, Walnut, Maple, Koa, and Indian
Rosewood.
I have chosen not to
offer a lifetime warranty on the basis of the
prevalent
mistreatment of guitars by players.
Instead, I have chosen to offer a 10 year warranty on the
basis that any cosmetic or structural flaw will most
certainly reveal themselves within this time frame. As a
luthier, my word and reputation for integrity are the
foundations of my business. My guitars have been
thoughtfully designed and carefully engineered to last a
lifetime. And for the individuals who keeps their
guitar properly
maintained, you will
find that I stand behind the quality of my work
100%.
